Byoukyou / Thinking of the Homeland

Kubota’s experience as a prisoner of war gave him an understanding that even at the worst of times being able to envision an image of the homeland in one’s heart could bring a soothing quiet to the spirit. This open area in this design is a symbol of that vision of home.
