Ou/ Endless Ocean

In Ou/ Endless Ocean, the seemingly boundless waters are taking on the deepening and velvety colours of nightfall. The darker palette Kubota used to show the oncoming night also helps to emphasize the overall zig-zag matsukawabishi design of the Oceans kimono. You will have noticed that the boundaries between ocean and sky are quite unclear in the Oceans kimono. The boundary here is all but invisible, as the sea seems to meld seamlessly into the evening sky.
