Exhibition Update
We are pleased to announce an exciting new exhibition at the Itchiku Kubota Museum.
Titled ‘With the Sunset in Siberia’, this exhibition features Kubota’s 26 remarkable works, including one of his most significant creations, ‘San’. This work holds profound personal significance for the artist, as it embodies the essence of a Siberian sunset – the sole source of comfort and hope during his dreary days in a prisoner of war camp during the WW2.
In addition to ‘San’, the exhibition presents five consecutive works from the ‘Symphony of Light’ collection, which showcases Kubota’s extraordinary mastery of the ancient tsujigahana dyeing technique.
Museum visitors now have the opportunity to gain deeper insights into Kubota’s creative process. The exhibition also delves into the artist’s philosophical explorations of nature and beauty, offering a comprehensive understanding of his artistic vision.
We warmly invite art enthusiasts and cultural scholars to visit our museum and experience the remarkable artistry of Itchiku Kubota.
